Why Florence?
Florence is the home to the University of North Alabama, a Division 1 University in the NCAA Big South Conference ; the oldest 4 year state supported University in the State of Alabama. We are located in the northwest corner of the state and right on the banks of the Tennessee River in a community known as The Shoals. We have a rich sporting heritage as well as music, culture and Native American history. It's home to the Florence Sportsplex with eight, state-of-the-art softball and baseball fields and six soccer pitches. The Shoals area has three disc golf courses and 27 tennis courts in the Florence area alone.
