This event has expired and is here for your information.
The Florence Indian Mound Museum, through its partnership with the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, is hosting a series of children’s activities that help students to investigate the early culture of the Shoals through interactive learning. These programs will cover a wide range of topics; they are suitable for an elementary level age group; will focus on Native American history and culture; and will have a creative component, which will engage students in hands-on learning. All events are free.In December students will learn about how the indigenous southeastern peoples prepared for winter, focusing on housing and food. Students will engage in a short lesson and then prepare an exhibit that will be on display at the Museum. This program is sponsored by the City of Florence Department of Arts and Museums and the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area.
