Be a part of this concert 100 years in the making, featuring the group, Sweet Tea Trio & band, and singer / songwriter Denise Davis, Alison McCreary Gengelbach Dedra Eastland Pennington and Tiara Pennington. All of these fabulous entertainers either have roots in the Muscle Shoals area or recorded their songs in the area.
Kid Rock, manager of Sweet Tea Trio said, "they pick up where Dixie Chicks and Pistol Annies meet. They are 100% country and I look forward to sharing my 30 years in this business to get them an honest shot at the big time."
Denise Davis, Christian Music Artist and singer / songwriter has been writing and recording in Muscle Shoals since she was a young girl, where she grew up just down the road in Russellville, AL. Her first Christian album, "Eternally Grateful", garnered 5 chart singles. She was Miss Alabama 1976!
Dedra Eastland Pennington has worked for production companies in New York and Nashville. She is listed as an Alabama Music Achiever by the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Dedra was featured in “Time” magazine for her role as Miss Sue in the Sarsaparilla Show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. After a statewide audition, she was selected to be Dorothy in “The Wiz” for Summerfest under Mr. James Hatcher and Broadway choreographer Mr. George Faison. She has sung at the Independence Day Celebration in Washington, D.C, with Roberta Flack and did the Whistle Stop Tour across Alabama with Fannie Flagg and other Alabama stars.
Tiara was a cast member in the “A Not So Silent Night” featuring country star, Ty Herndon. She has performed the U.S. national anthem for the Davis Cup and for various other sporting events. Tiara also was the opening act for Amy Johnson and Tawny Stephens for the CAT Cabaret and “12 Days of Christmas Special” hosted by Carl D. Peoples. She is the winner of the USAA National Vocalist Award. She is a former Miss University of Alabama and Miss Tennessee Valley. She was Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen in 2016, and Miss Alabama 2019 and 2020 serving two years making her the longest reigning Miss Alabama.
Alison McCreary Gengelbach, native of Florence, Alabama, was named Miss Alabama 1996 and third-runner up to Miss America 1997. She is a Christian speaker, singer, wife and mother who has been the keynote speaker at over 200 conferences throughout her career. She is a co-host on Faithful Finance Live, streaming on PureFlix. She recorded a Contemporary Christian praise and worship Album, I See You, and was featured on Life Today with James Robinson. She attended the Broadway Theatre Project of Tampa where she studied with Ann Reinking, Seth Riggs, Tommy Tune and Stephanie Zimbalist. She won Outstanding Choral student for the State of Alabama and sang the National Anthem at the Division II National Championship Football game.
